Established in 1989 by the American Statistical Association's Committee on Women in Statistics and the Caucus for Women in Statistics to encourage women to enter statistically oriented professions. Two $1,000 awards are made each year: one to a woman entering the early stages of graduate (MS or PhD) statistics training and one to a woman in a more advanced stage.
