Australian Maths Trust
Run by the Australian Maths Trust since 1978, the AMC is the longest running and largest school mathematics competition in Australia. Students sit 30 questions - 25 multiple-choice and 5 integer - in 60 minutes for primary divisions or 75 minutes for secondary, with papers set for five divisions: Middle Primary (Years 3-4), Upper Primary (Years 5-6), Junior (Years 7-8), Intermediate (Years 9-10) and Senior (Years 11-12). Schools may sit the paper online or on printed paper. The 2026 competition ran Tuesday 4 to Thursday 6 August at AUD $9.30 per student, with bundle discounts available, and a pilot Early Primary division for Years 1-2 running 12-23 October 2026. Registration closes 31 July.
