About This Program

A national enrichment and selection program run for more than 35 years by Australian Science Innovations from the Research School of Physics at the Australian National University in Canberra. Students sit Australian Science Olympiad exams in Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science or Physics, and top performers are invited to a residential Summer School that takes 24 students per discipline, from which Australia's International Science Olympiad teams are selected. It is open to Australian high school students, ideally Years 9-12, who are at least 15 years old by 1 January of the Summer School year; registration is through schools, registered homeschools or distance education providers. The 2026 exams ran 27-30 July at $22 per exam.
