Nigeria's Petroleum Technology Development Fund, the federal agency charged with building indigenous capacity and petroleum technology for the country's oil and gas sector, runs fully funded MSc and PhD scholarships at universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Malaysia, alongside a separate in-country scheme. Awards cover tuition fees, return flights, accommodation, living allowances, health insurance and bench fees where applicable. UK PhD candidates take a split-site route, dividing time between the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Kaduna and UK partners including Robert Gordon University, the University of Strathclyde and the University of Portsmouth. Applications are made on the PTDF scholarship portal and require a verified National Identity Number.
